Our partnership with Nick and Ceri Smee's Rock Foundry goes from strength to strength with several gigs at Two Rivers lined up in the coming months. Anyone wanting to get into music, either playing an instrument or singing could do no better than enrolling with the Rock Foundry - they will have you involved with other musicians and enjoying the local music scene in no time!

All staff at Two Rivers have been saddened by the deaths this month of three of rock's most influencial musicians and peformers. Legendary guitarist Alvin Lee passed away at the age of 68 after developing complications during routine surgery. Alvin influenced many many guitarists during the 1970's and 1980's with his band Ten Year's After. Their performance at Woodstock is legendary in rock history and the track 'Love like a man' is up there with the likes of Smoke on the Water and Stairway to Heaven.

Original Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr passed away following a long struggle with MS. Our producer Pete Newdeck knew him personally and expressed what a fantastic performer and unique drummer he was. Clive played on three Iron Maiden albums.

It has also been announced that founder member of YES, Peter Banks has died folliowing a prolonged illness. Peter started the band and played on the first two Yes albums before departing to persue other musical genres as well as producing his own albums. All will be sadly missed.

On a different note I was personally saddened to hear of the death of comedian Norman Collier. I worked with Norman several times in the 1980's and can honestly say he was a real gentleman and the funniest man I have ever known. I remember a sketch he did playing a kamakazi pilot who got lost and was asking directions, I cried laughing. RIP Norman, a real comic genius.

The last few weeks have been busy as usual especially with us getting our cafe bar area up and running. We are happy and proud to announce we have had an inspection from the Department of Environmental Health and have been given a FIVE STAR hygiene rating for our catering facilities. Why not give our basic menu a try when you are here rehearsing or recording!

This month we have been delighted to welcome the living legend Raymond Froggatt and his band to Two Rivers for rehearsals prior to their latest countrywide tour. Ray has written literally thousands of songs over the years and many top artists owe their success to his song writing talents. Check out Ray's website to check out the latest tour venues.

Metropolis have been busy rehearsing prior to their first recording followed up by a prestigious gig in Prague arranged through their tutor Andrew Lansley at Gloucestershire University. The band have masses of talent and material of such high quality.......definitely one to watch.

We are pleased to announce that several of our regular bands are doing well on the gig circuit including Naked Flame who are booked to play at this year's Download Festival and I'm The Envy who are set to tour with Murder Dolls later in the year. Tainted Nation have several venues countrywide and European festivals following the huge success of their first album released earlier in the year. Check out their website
www.taintednation.co.uk for more details.

Last Exit have recently performed great gigs at The Ambassador in Evesham and Rec-Con in Malvern. Reformed rockers Straight Torque are organising and playing a charity gig in Bishops Cleeve in June. See their website for further details.
